about avatastic
avatastic was created on thu, 21 feb 2008 at around 7pm. the reason for
its creation was simple, to provide people, okay hazel and myself, a simple to
use way of managing random avatars. we both already had our own independent
systems for doing this, but hazel's was inflexable and mine was slow.
so the idea for avatastic was born, a multi-user image store with a
random feature. by the end of the 21 feb the system was working, feeding random
avatars from our own individual pools. by the following week the user
registration system was completed and the signups began. somewhere between
these two monumentous events, the .co.uk domain was bought for the site, but
the whois records tell the story there.
a further week later, the site had its first major re-styling ... okay styling
... and the textual contents were filled out, and that is the history so
far.
