mail forwarding? what is that?
mail forwarding
when you sign up for an avatastic account, you use your e-mail address as your account name. initially this may seem like a strange thing to do, however when you activate mail forwarding, this is where the mail will be sent to.
to use mail forwarding you must have:
  • an avatastic account
  • an active avatastic account
  • an active and in-use avatastic account
  • an active and in-use avatastic account with an alias name set
if you meet all of the above requirements, activating mail forwarding couldn't be simpler, simply check the box marked 'mail forwarding' in your account preferences and its done.
you can deactivate the mail forwarding just as easily, however you can not change your alias. ever.
there are a few things to note*
  • mail forwarding is protected by:
    1. anti-virus
    2. dns blacklists
  • your alias address will, just like your account address, will never willingly, knowingly or drunkenly be passed on to spammers, asshats or other nefarious individuals
when picking your alias, you may wish to consider that the domain portion of your forwarding address will be @is.avatastic.co.uk
* correct at time of writing
